MONACO STAR MBAPPE COMPLETES €180 MILLION PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN MOVE
The 18-year-old striker has followed in the footsteps of Neymar by joining the Parc des Princes side, and signs from Monaco initially on a loan deal
Paris Saint-Germain have pulled off their latest coup in the transfer market by completing the signing of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.
The 18-year-old striker was the subject of intense transfer speculation all summer but has finally joined his hometown club, initially on loan but with the club having a compulsory purchase clause in the deal that means he will arrive on a permanent basis next summer.
At that time, he is expected to become the world’s second most expensive player, with the deal reported to be as much as €180 million. His contract will run through June 30, 2022.
"It is with great joy and pride that I join Paris Saint-Germain," Mbappe said in a press release. For any young person from the Paris region, it is often a dream to wear the red and blue jersey and experience the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.
"I really wanted to be a part of the club’s project, which is one of the most ambitious in Europe. Alongside my new teammates, I intend to continue my progression while helping the team achieve the very big objectives it has set itself."
PSG have already smashed the world transfer record this summer, having acquired Neymar from Barcelona for €222m.
As a result of that deal, they could not also afford to sign Mbappe and stay within UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, hence the move is simply a loan to begin with.
The teenager is regarded as one of the hottest properties in the game, having exploded into Monaco’s starting XI in the second half of last season by scoring 26 times in 44 matches.
He has earned widespread praise, with Juventus great Gianluigi Buffon dubbing him a “future Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo” .
"Among players of his age, he is without doubt the most promising in the world due to his immense technical, physical and mental qualities," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.
"Since his emergence at the highest level, he has earned an excellent reputation as a young talent who is very respectful, open, ambitious and already very mature.
"Under our colors, in the midst of truly great players, Kylian will continue his progression in a way that will also benefit the French national team in the months and years to come."
Mbappe has, though, been used sparingly at the start of the new season, given the speculation around his future, with a whole host of Europe's top clubs having been linked with a move at one stage or another.
The forward started the French Super Cup defeat to PSG, and then Monaco's first Ligue 1 game of the new campaign, but has since been an unused substitute or left out of the squad entirely.
Marvin Zeegelaar Sporting Lisbon left-back completed medical At Watford
Watford are closing in on a deal for Marvin Zeegelaar after the Sporting Lisbon left-back completed a medical.
The 27-year-old Dutchman has yet to be capped at international level but was called into the Netherlands squad for the first time last year.
And he now looks set to join former Sporting Lisbon boss Marco Silva, who reportedly tried to sign him for Hull last season and is now in charge at Watford.
Zeegelaar has some experience of English football already, having made two appearances for Blackpool during a loan spell at Blackpool in 2013.
We understand he is now set to join the Hornets for a fee in the region of £3m.
Watford have made a decent start to the Premier League season, having taken five points from three games, but regular left-back Jose Holebas was suspended for Saturday's 0-0 draw at Brighton and his replacement Miguel Britos was then sent off in that match.
Tottenham have announced the £23m signing of Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier
Tottenham have signed Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain for £23m. The right-back has signed a contract until 2022.
Tottenham have announced the £23m signing of Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract and arrives as Spurs' replacement for Kyle Walker, who joined Manchester City in a £50m deal earlier in the window.
The Ivory Coast international said: "This is a huge and exciting opportunity at a massive football club and I am determined to prove myself as a professional both on and off the pitch.
"This is a fresh start for me and I will do everything to make the Spurs fanbase, which is huge and diverse, proud of me. The fans are the most important people at any club and I am looking forward to showing them and everyone at Spurs the real Serge Aurier."
Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Mauricio Pochettino had moved for Aurier after attempts to sign Porto's Ricardo Pereira proved fruitless.
But Aurier's move was thrown into doubt over a work permit application, due to an ongoing appeal over a conviction in France for assaulting a police officer, which had resulted in a two-month suspended prison sentence.
The Home Office granted his work permit on Deadline Day's eve and Spurs completed the deal overnight. He will wear the number 24 shirt.
Tottenham are expected to have a busy Deadline Day, wanting two further deals over the line after Aurier.
They have agreed a deal with Swansea to sign striker Fernando Llorente, which Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes to be £12m.
Tottenham Hotspur SET TO SING Everton's Ross Barkley
Tottenham are considering making a Deadline Day bid for Everton playmaker Ross Barkley, Sky sources understand.
Barkley has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park during the current transfer window, with Chelsea also understood to be interested in the 23-year-old.
The England international is currently ruled out with a groin injury but Spurs remain interested in signing him, even though his current fitness problems mean he would be unable to pass a medical.
Mauricio Pochettino's side also appear poised to beat the Blues to another transfer target with Swansea striker Fernando Llorente, long-admired by Antonio Conte, understood to be undergoing a medical with Spurs.
Tottenham have already secured one Deadline Day signing after they announced the £23m capture of Paris Saint-Germain right-back Serge Aurier as replacement for Kyle Walker following his £50m move to Manchester City.
CHELSEA BID £45M MAHREZ
Chelsea have made a £45 million bid for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez and a deal could be completed before the deadline, according to beIn Sports.
Mahrez was released from international duty by Algeria on Wednesday and, according to AS, he was close to completing a move to Barcelona.
However, the Blues have since emerged as chief suitors and Mahrez is said to have travelled to London in order to seal a deal
Swansea have completed the loan signing of Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches on Loan
Swansea have completed the loan signing of Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches
The midfielder has joined City for the season in a move which reunites him with former Bayern coach Paul Clement, now in charge in south Wales.
Shortly after the deal was sealed Swansea revealed the Premier League rejected a chosen shirt number for their new man, with the Swans' Twitter post stating an application for No 85 was turned down because "squad numbers must be consecutive and close to the current highest number," and Sanches will instead wear the No 35.
Sanches cost Bayern £27.5m in the wake of Portugal's victory at Euro 2016, where he was named young player of the tournament.
But the 20-year-old has started just six Bundesliga games and was made available for loan earlier this summer.
Clement told the Swansea website he had secured "one of Europe's elite young talents", adding: "This move to Swansea and the Premier League will provide him with a real positive development experience.
"As a player he is a dynamic, powerful central midfielder who I believe has all the attributes to suit the Premier League.''
Clement's old Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "We're delighted we've been able to conclude the loan deal with Swansea City. Our goal was for Renato to gain regular match practice at club level in a strong league such as the Premier League.
"We remain convinced he has the potential to become an important player for FC Bayern in the future. For this reason the agreement states that the player will return to FC Bayern on 1 July 2018 with no option to make the transfer permanent."
Swansea announced the news in a tweet showing Sanches in conversation with his Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
Arsenal's £92m move to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco Set to fail
Arsenal's £92 million move for Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar has broken down, according to Sky Sports, with time running out for a move to be completed before the deadline.
The Gunners revived their interest in Lemar following the completion of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's £35m move to Liverpool, but the 21-year-old is currently on international duty with France.
Given that Les Bleus are in action this deadline day, it makes completing a deal with the player slightly more complicated, with the clock ticking.
Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho has completed a transfer to Borussia Dortmund
The highly-rated teenager has left the Etihad Stadium for the Bundesliga, where he takes on the number of the new Barcelona signing
Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho has completed a transfer to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, the clubs confirmed on Thursday.
The 17-year-old was considered one of the stars of the City academy, but came into conflict with the club over a new contract.
The final breakdown in relations came when City left Sancho out of their pre-season squad that toured the United States this summer.
That stand-off proved to Dortmund's benefit, as they swooped to sign the former Watford trainee on deadline day.
Sancho posed with his new shirt after the transfer was confirmed, taking up Ousmane Dembele's old No. 7 for BVB.

While the transfer fee has not been disclosed for the teenager, it is believed that Dortmund and City settled on a figure higher than the £190,000 the Premier League club would have been entitled to in compensation had BVB negotiated directly with Sancho.
Several top English clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, had shown interest in Sancho, but they would have had to agree a compensation deal directly with City.
It is understood that the Manchester club's desire not to sell their wonderkid to a Premier League rival led to them demanding an elevated fee which none of his suitors were willing to match.
Sancho is yet to make his professional debut, but he has become a fixture in England's Under-17 team, winning the Player of the Tournament gong in May as the Three Lions reached the UEFA European Championship final.
MAN CITY AGREE £60M ALEXIS SANCHEZ DEAL WITH ARSENAL
Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Arsenal over a £60m transfer for Alexis Sanchez, but the move will not be rubber-stamped until the Gunners have secured a replacement.
Having had a £50m bid rejected on Tuesday, Goal understands City submitted another offer worth around £60m on Wednesday evening, a figure the Gunners approved on Thursday morning.
Federal Government has commenced the payment of about N23bn promotion arrears and salary
The Federal Government has commenced the payment of about N23bn promotion arrears and salary shortfall to civil servants.
The development was confirmed by the Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Idris Ahmed, in Abuja on Wednesday, who said N13.2bn was for salary shortfall and N10bn for promotion arrears.
The issue of promotion arrears has been of concern to many civil servants who have been promoted but were still being paid based on the salary grade before their promotion.
The development had been blamed on inadequate budgetary provision for personnel cost.
The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria in May issued a strike notice to the government over the issue.
Ahmed said the government’s decision was anchored on a clear understanding that clearing the arrears formed part of the palliative measures being offered to cushion the effects of the harsh economic realities on civil servants.
He added that the mandate to pay the affected workers was being released in batches, noting that the delay in releasing the funds was largely due to the verification of the claims of those to be paid.
He explained that unlike in the past where funds were released to the various ministries, departments and agencies of government for onward disbursement to beneficiaries, a new approach had been adopted to check the rate of abuse of the process.
He said henceforth, the accounts of those that were promoted and being owed arrears would be credited directly after all the necessary verification.
He said about N13.2bn had been provided for the payments of the promotion arrears to the concerned civil servants.
He said, “We cannot give money in bulk to agencies. We will accept detailed information of all those individual employees of government who are in that category having names, banks and account numbers and the amount that happens to be in arrears as far as their salary payments are concerned.
“After due verification, we will now pay direct to the account of the employee. We have started that already and money has been set aside, N13.2bn for the salary shortfall and then N10bn monthly for promotion arrears.”
One person was set ablaze and two others rescued by the Police as another ritualists’den is discovered in Lagos
One person was set ablaze and two others rescued by the Police in another suspected ritualists’ den dicovered at the Challenge area of Mushin, Lagos.
Recovered from the suspects were two expensive phones, four Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and about I00 syringes, with some filled with substance believed to be blood.
A witness, Sunday Ogunjobi, said that one of the suspects was sighted dragging a female victim into a tunnel at Challenge bus stop and some people raised the alarm.
It was gathered that the victim was rescued while the suspect who dressed like a mad woman was arrested.
He said: “We observed that the suspect’s shirt was stained with blood and when he could not provide satisfactory answers to question on where he was taking the victim to and where he got the ATM and syringes, the mob descended on him and lynched him.
“He attempted to run into the tunnel which was later discovered to be the gang’s den but was caught and he confessed that other members of his gang were still inside the tunnel.
During a search of the tunnel, over 100 syringes with some stained with blood were recovered. We have been seeing one of them around this vicinity for a while. We thought she was a mad woman. But what baffles us is that she will disappear for a while and reappear again. Before we knew it, two others had joined her.
At some time, they would be up to five lunatics sitting at the edge of the tunnel. It was not until today that we discovered that the mad woman was not mad at all and that she is not a woman as we thought. When we started beating the suspect, we discovered he was a man not a woman.
A member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), wasiu said when they entered the den, it was discovered that the tunnel links other parts of Lagos. It is like another world of its own.
Mumbai building collapse kills at least seven and
At least seven people have died and rescuers are searching for dozens who are feared trapped in a building collapse in Mumbai, police say.
A six-storey building toppled over in India's financial capital on Thursday.
The building in the densely populated Bhendi Bazaar area was believed to be about 100 years old.
Ambulances, fire engines and members of the disaster relief force are working at the site. Mumbai is recovering from heavy rains and flooding.
The residential building gave way around 08:40 India time [03:10 GMT], reports said.
"Forty people are believed to be stuck inside and a 43-member team is conducting rescue operations," an official for India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) told AFP.
Crystal Palace submitted a bid of £23m for Manlaga
Late last night, Crystal Palace submitted a bid in the region of £23m for Manchester City centre-back Eliaquim Mangala.
Palace are optimistic City will accept the offer as they seek an alternative option to Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho.
Sakho was Palace's first choice and the France international is keen to return to Selhurst Park, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.
But despite Palace improving their offer and Sakho seemingly surplus to requirements at Liverpool, the Anfield club seem unwilling to lower their asking price of £30m.
Liverpool have agreed a £40m deal to sign Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Liverpool have agreed a £40m deal to sign Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 24-year-old, who rejected a move to Chelsea on Tuesday after a fee had been agreed, will join Liverpool on a five-year contract worth £120,000 a week.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is in the final year of his Arsenal contract, rejected a new deal worth up to £180,000 a week to stay at the Emirates.
He has started each of Arsenal's four games so far this season.
The midfielder is expected to have a medical before flying to Malta with England on Thursday, before the summer transfer window closes at 23:00 BST.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 198 appearances for Arsenal since joining them from Southampton in August 2011, scoring 20 goals.
The fee is the highest Liverpool have yet paid for a player - although it will be surpassed by the £48m the Reds have agreed to pay for RB Leipzig's Naby Keita next summer.
So far this summer, Liverpool have signed winger Mohamed Salah from Roma for £34m, full-back Andrew Robertson from Hull for £8m and striker Dominic Solanke after his contract at Chelsea expired.
Liverpool have also been pursuing Monaco's £75m-rated winger Thomas Lemar and Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk, while the Reds' Brazil forward Philippe Coutinho remains Barcelona's number one transfer target.
Belgium striker Divock Origi could leave Anfield and join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on loan before the transfer window closes on Thursday, says BBC Sport's chief football writer Phil McNulty.
The 22-year-old is highly rated by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp but the imminent arrival of Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal means his chances in attack are likely to be restricted this season.
Origi wants regular football throughout Belgium's build-up to next summer's World Cup and Liverpool will also be eager to see the talented young forward continue his progress, so it is expected he will leave Anfield before the deadline.
CHELSEA FC AGREE FEE WITH ARSENAL TO SIGN ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN FOR £35MILLION
The Blues have agreed a fee for the midfielder, who is expected to undergo a medical and join up before the transfer window closes on Thursday night
Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as the clubs agree a fee of £35million for his transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The England international will now begin talks over a new five year contract with Chelsea before making the switch across London to join up with the Premier League champions.
Pending a medical at St George's Park, the 24-year-old is expected to become Chelsea's fifth first-team signing of the summer after the club previously brought in Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata.
Chelsea are keen on strengthening their English core after fielding no players from the country in the last two fixtures. Oxlade-Chamberlain's move has allowed Chelsea to release Jeremie Boga, who has renewed his contract but gone on a season-long loan to Birmingham City.
Arsenal had offered a new contract to Oxlade-Chamberlain but he rejected all his club's offers with only one-year remaining on his current deal. Arsene Wenger's side have decided to cash in on the midfielder, rather than lose him for free next summer.
Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the first of several big names to arrive at Chelsea with the club also in talks with Leicester City's Danny Drinkwater.
Ashley Cole was the last player to move from Arsenal to Stamford Bridge over 11 years ago.
Liverpool agree deal to sign Keita In 2018
Liverpool have agreed to sign Guinean midfielder Naby Keita from RB Leipzig in a club-record deal next year, according to British media reports on Monday.
Several news outlets, including the BBC and the Times, said Liverpool have agreed to pay a £48 million ($62 million, 51.9 million euros) release clause to sign the 22-year-old.
They will reportedly pay an undisclosed premium as well.
Keita was reported to have undergone a medical at Liverpool’s Melwood training base on Monday. He will officially join the club on July 1, 2018.
AFP have asked Liverpool for confirmation.
Liverpool’s previous transfer record was the £35 million they paid Newcastle United to sign Andy Carroll in January 2011.
An athletic box-to-box midfielder, Keita has been a longstanding target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
He began his career with Horoya in his home city of Conakry and spent a season at French second-tier side Istres before joining Red Bull Salzburg in 2014.
Salzburg sold him to their German sister club RB Leipzig in June last year.
Klopp has signed Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, Scottish left-back Andy Robertson and English striker Dominic Solanke during the current transfer window.
Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday left them second in the Premier League table, two points below Manchester United.
BREAKING NEWS: FGN declares Friday, Monday public holidays
The Federal Government has declared Friday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 4 as Public Holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the statement on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday in Abuja.
Dr Rufai Attahiru, overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry signed the statement in Abuja on Monday.

He assured Nigerians of safety in all parts of the country, emphasising that security agencies had been directed to maintain peace and protect lives and property during and after the celebration.
Danbazau condemned in strong terms, the prevalence of hate speeches in the country and warned that the Federal Government would henceforth deal with perpetrators according to the law.
He stressed that government would continue to foster peaceful coexistence, national cohesion and stability in its march toward actualising the full potential of Nigeria.
The minister wished all Nigerians a most rewarding and Happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Nnamdi Kanu Vows That Anybody Trying To Arrest Me Will Die
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Sunday said anybody trying to arrest him will die.
He said this in reaction to the call of the Federal Government that his bail should be revoked.
Speaking at Boys Technical College (BTC), Aba, Abia State, Kanu paid tribute to those reportedly killed at National High School by security agencies.
He said the quest for Biafra was unstoppable, adding that the call is a “message from heaven.”
He also insisted that the Anambra gubernatorial election will be boycotted except a referendum which the group has been clamouring is conducted.
“Where we are is Biafra Land. Aba is the spiritual capital of Biafra land. We started in Aba in 2015 at CKC (Christ the King Catholic Cathedral),” Kanu said.
“That day, heaven authenticated our move that IPOB will restore Biafra and that’s what we’ve come to do. We died in Aba, at National High School.
“They shot and killed us in other places in Biafra land when they were protesting for my release. As our people rest in the grave, we’ll never rest until Biafra is restored. I don’t care what they say in Abuja. I don’t give a damn what they say in Lagos.
“I’m a Biafran and we are going to crumble the zoo. Some idiots who are not educated said that they’ll arrest me, and I ask them to come. I’m in Biafra land. If any of them leaves Biafra land alive know that this is not IPOB. Tell them that’s what I said.
“Tell Buhari that I’m in Aba and any person who comes to arrest Nnamdi Kanu in Biafra land will die here. I’ll never go on exile I assure you.
“Some people talk about restructuring, are we doing restructuring of Nigeria now? Are we doing fiscal federalism? Are we doing devolution? What we want is Biafra!
“Forget all the nonsense they write about us. We are not slowing down and no man born of a woman can stop us.
“They thought we are joking and God gave us a simple message that no one can stop us. The movement to restore Biafra is unstoppable.
“The message of heaven is what I bring to you. Don’t be afraid. The plans of our enemies are not going to be actualised. The enemies are planning, but we are formidable.
“We are going to boycott Anambra state election. After Anambra 2017, in 2019, there’ll be no elections in Biafra land. Signed and sealed. My message is that there’ll not be election in Biafra land ever again until they give us date for referendum.”
Meanwhile, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has advised President Muhammadu Buhari against re-arresting the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, over his violation of his bail conditions, warning that doing that would “set Nigeria in flames.”
The IYC, under the leadership of Eric Omare, also criticised the presidency for its poor handling of the quit notice given to Igbos in the North by Arewa youths. The group claimed things would have taken an entirely different twist if the threat had emanated from another tribe.
“It is the height of nepotism and sectionalism for the Buhari administration to treat the Arewa youth leaders who committed a serious offense bordering on a threat to national security with kid gloves while the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is being threatened with arrest and several Niger Delta activists are languishing in detention,” the IYC said.
The IYC urged President Buhari to release Niger Delta youth activists who were arrested for making comments on social media, an offense far less grievous than the threat issued by the Arewa youths.
“While the Arewa youths are enjoying state dinners, Niger Delta youth activists, such as Ezekiel Daniel, Alex Odogu, ex-militant leader Bonny Gawei, and several others, are in underground detention cells. Ezekiel Daniel has been in DSS detention for more than a year for a mere Facebook comment. This is sad and unacceptable. The IYC condemns this institutionalisation of double standards in national affairs by the Buhari administration in the strongest terms,” the group said.
The IYC insisted that the presidency has lost moral rights to re-arrest Mr. Kanu or any other agitator in the southern part of Nigeria until Arewa youths are fully reprimanded and there is no threat to lives in any part of the country.
“We wish to state clearly that the Buhari administration has lost the justification to threaten to re-arrest Mr. Nnamdi Kanu or any other agitator in the southern part of Nigeria. Nigerians ought to be treated equally irrespective of their place of origin or ethnic background. We also strongly advise against the planned revocation of the bail and arrest of the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. Arresting Nnamdi Kanu would set Nigeria in flames,” the group concluded.
Some Reasons Why Your Visa Application May Be Rejected
The process for applying for a visa is very exhausting and rigorous. Hence, it will leave a sour taste in the mouth after serious planning, submitting and been interviewed for a visa, you end up being denied. As such, if you are about to make your visa application, then you should look out for these signs shared by Jumia Travel to further prepare you against a visa rejection.
You cannot clearly explain the source (s) of your funds
The majority of embassies will assume that applicants are seeking permanent entry into their country until you prove them otherwise. And one way to prove them otherwise is to present evidence that you have strong economic reasons to return to your country following your stay. What other way to do this than your bank statement? Hence, ensure that your cash inflow and outflow are credible. They do not want to give visas to criminals.
Your visa agent cannot answer basic visa questions
If your visa agent promises to deliver to you a visa without asking you basic questions that only you have answers to, you should feel very uncomfortable about that application. It may most likely be rejected.
You have a record visa denials
If you have a record of refusals from a particular embassy, they will know that you arguably are desperate to leave your country. If you have been refused once at any embassy, they have the record. Hence, do not submit any visa application without consulting reliable visa businesses for advice. The more you are rejected, the more your visa application will be denied and vice-versa.
You apply for the visa category
There are different visa categories and, for every visa you are applying for it must correspond with your lifestyle. If it does not support the category of visa you are applying for, that is a strong signal, which you address before even submitting your application or else you will suffer the embarrassment of a rejection.
You have an uneasy feeling about an answer
If you have answered a question on your application but you don't feel comfortable about the answer you have provided, then you need to take steps back and peruse your responses again. The reason is that, you will unconsciously communicate your uneasy feelings to your interviewer while answering that question; particularly if they seem interested in that particular answer.

But, we later lost the child in 2009 because we were unable to pay some hospital bills after people have helped us in raising money for the surgery.
“I was duped by some people and they even threatened me, and this made me to leave Abeokuta for Akwa-Ibom state.
It was when I came back after a year that I discovered I have been sacked from the TRACE.
“I am frustrated because am owing a lot of people ranging from house bill to electricity bill, and some other bills. I am ashamed of myself because am not a responsible man, I cannot cater for my family as a head. “The Lapo officials have used OPC to arrest my wife because of the money, if not for the help of my pastor. Am just frustrated because I have to pay N3,000 every Friday and I am presently jobless. And I still have like N24,000 to balance .
“I cannot pay the hospital bill of my mother, I can’t take care of her, I was told she is now on the street begging to survive. No family to help me, we have been living in abject poverty. “What added to my conclusion to commit suicide was due to my inability to refund the ‘Lapo’ loan I collected when I wanted to start my tricycle business. The officials of the Lapo have been giving my family tough times for sometimes now, because, I cannot afford to be repaying N3,000 every Friday”, he said.
He however, said he regretted his action, saying,
“ it was not my fault, am just a frustrated man that does not know what else to do. “I wish to go back to school; I want the government to help me with a job that can cater for my family and other things that are important”.

How Mayweather Outclassed McGregor to win superfight
Floyd Mayweather outclassed Conor McGregor with a 10th-round stoppage on Saturday to win their money-spinning superfight and clinch his 50th straight victory.
Former welterweight boxing champion Mayweather, who had emerged from a two-year retirement to take on the Irish mixed martial arts star, took his time to get going before dominating from the fourth round.
The end came with a tired McGregor doubled over on the ropes as Mayweather landed two hard left hooks, prompting referee Robert Byrd to intervene and declare a technical knockout.
It was an explosive finale to their much-hyped contest at the T-Mobile Arena which proved surprisingly competitive in the early rounds as McGregor managed to land a string of scoring punches.
But once Mayweather began to find his range and McGregor wearied rapidly, there was only going to be one winner.
The 40-year-old American scored at will after the fourth round, snapping back McGregor’s head with a series of stinging blows.
McGregor somehow survived an onslaught in the seventh round when a right counter from Mayweather staggered him badly.
Finally, McGregor’s resistance broke in the 10th when a Mayweather right sent him lurching across the ring.
A hard left put him on the ropes and another hook saw him bent over and helpless, prompting the stoppage.
The fight had followed a largely expected script but McGregor, in his first ever boxing appearance, by no means embarrassed himself.
Mayweather will now head into what he says is a permanent retirement with a perfect 50-0 record, one better than heavyweight legend Rocky Marciano.
The American is also expected to be around $200 million wealthier, taking his career earnings to around $1 billion.
McGregor, who was an unemployed former plumber four years ago before emerging as one of the biggest stars of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is expected to earn around $100 million.
Thelma Okoduwa-Ojiji, reveals secret of her successful marriage
Nollywood actress, Thelma Okoduwa-Ojiji, has kept a low profile for sometime now. In an interview with The Sun, she revealed why her marriage is scandal free... See below
Thelma said:
“Everybody now wants to put online every issue they are going through. I don’t do that at all; I don’t put my family life out there. That’s why I have stayed scandal free for years. I have never had any negative thing said about me, either bad press or controversy. I’m not really a social media freak.”
She continued saying she judges no one: “It’s not just entertainers, social media and its fake lifestyle have taken over now. Everybody now shows off online, but I’m not that kind of person. The pressure is just too much; it makes people do what they don’t really want to do. It’s getting out of hand. Well, it’s the social media era, so we all have to deal with it. But I don’t judge those who do so; it’s their life.”
Arsenal and Watford have reportedly agreed a £5 million transfer fee for Kieran Gibbs
Arsenal and Watford have reportedly agreed a £5 million transfer fee for full-back Kieran Gibbs, who seems destined to leave the Gunners before the end of the summer transfer window.
That's according to Pete O'Rourke of ESPN FC, citing sources close to both Premier League clubs. The player has yet to agree to personal terms, and those negotiations could still go south.
Gibbs has yet to feature for the Gunners this season after appearing on just about every list of possible departures all summer long. The former England international has been with the senior squad since 2007 but never developed as expected, and the arrival of Sead Kolasinac has made him expendable.
With just one year left on his contract, the time to cash in is now, and any fee the club can get has to be considered a win. For Gibbs, the move to Watford could help him rebuild his career and once again push for a spot with the Three Lions after years of relative inactivity.
A move to the Hornets would be quite the step back, but the 27-year-old can't risk holding out for a bigger club this late in the summer.

2017 Afrobasket: D’Tigress Vow to out-dunk Cote d’Ivoire in qtr-finals
D’Tigress of Nigeria are in high spirit and top shape to take on Cote d’Ivoire in today’s quarter final of the ongoing Afrobasket championship in Bamako, Mali.
The Nigerian women are drawing confidence from their 58points to 54 win against the Afrobasket defending champions, Senegal in their last group game of the competition on Wednesday..
The game which was befitting of a final between the two teams who until the encounter had gone unbeaten in their groups with four wins each to their credit saw the Palais Des Sports Salamatou, Maiga, Bamako thrown into a frenzy during the 1hr and 40minutes match .
Evelyn Akhator turned up on the night despite the massive support from the travelling Senegalese fans who were also backed by their French speaking counterparts and hosts- Mali.
The Dallas Wings players led by example with 15points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal as the team confirmed it’s superiority over the team they defeated at the group stage of the 2015 edition.
Nyingifa Atonye contributed with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 points, Adaora Elonu gave the team 10points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds while inspiring Kalu Ezinne who was all over the court dictating the tempo helped with 11points.
Reacting after the game, the head coach of the side, Sam Vincent stressed the need to keep celebrations to the barest minimum ahead of the crunchy quarter final tie against Cote d’Ivoire who finished fourth in their group.
Peter Ahmedu who is the 1st assistant coach to Vincent praised the girls for defying all odds and showing a commendable level of resilience to maintain their lead till the end of the game after taking the initiative in the fi rst quarter. He traced the victory to the due diligence and scouting reports put together by the technical crew.
“We were able to study the Senegalese off and on the court. Th e style we deployed yesterday was a diff erent ball game to what they expected and it was very helpful. We are happy and grateful to God that we came out victorious. “Senegal being the defending champions were under a lot of pressure.
We told the players, go to the court and play your game.” He reasoned that for the team to have actually won despite not playing one of their best games in the competition, Nigerians should be hopeful that on a good day, the team will defeat any opposition to clinch their third Afrobasket trophy.
“We did not actually play the way we should have played yesterday, but as bad as we played, we were able to come out victorious. It means if we actually put our house in order, at the end of this championship, we will have cause to glorify God. The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engineer Musa Kida arrived Bamako, Mali yesterday to bosst the morale of the team ahead of today’s game against Cote d’Ivoire.
Defense Minister Joao Lourenco declared winner of Angola Presidential election
Angola’s MPLA party has claimed a widely expected election victory, setting the stage for a change of leadership since 1979. The victory means Defense Minister Joao Lourenco will be the country’s next president after being picked by the party to replace President Jose Eduardo dos Santos, who is stepping down after leading Angola for the past 38 years.
The National Electoral Commission said Friday that MPLA received just over 61 percent of the vote in Wednesday’s election The main opposition UNITA party came in second with 26.7 percent.
UNITA had questioned earlier provisional results, saying their independent tallies gave them a greater share of the vote but the party has not decided whether it will challenge the results in court, TodayNG reports.
Despite its commanding victory, MPLA’s share of the vote was significantly lower than in its previous victories. In the 2008 election, the party won 82 percent the vote. In the last election in 2012, the party received 72 percent.
The MPLA has been accused in recent times of plundering state resources in the oil-rich nation. During the campaign, opposition parties accused the ruling party of using government resources for campaigning.
The MPLA has however denied irregularities, and observers have largely praised the poll for being peaceful and orderly.
The Federal Government has finally asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to revoke the bail granted the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Mr. Namdi Kanu, who is being prosecuted along with others on treasonable felony charges.
The prosecution made this request in an application it filed before the court and served on Kanu on Friday.
Saturday PUNCH had exclusively reported in its July 22, 2017 edition that there were plans by the Federal Government to ask court to revoke the bail granted Kanu on April 25, 2017.
The application seeking the revocation of Kanu’s bail was released to journalists in Abuja on Friday by the Special Assistant to the Attorney-General of the Federation on Media and Publicity, Mr. Salihu Isah.
Kanu had, earlier in his application filed on July 1, 2017, urged the court to vary the conditions of the bail granted him on April 25, 2017.
But the Federal Government hinged its fresh motion seeking the revocation of Kanu’s bail on the grounds that the IPOB leader had flouted the terms and conditions of the bail.
Justice Binta Nyako had, in her ruling delivered on April 25, granted bail to Kanu, but dismissed the separate bail applications filed by his co-defendants — the National Coordinator of IPOB, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe; an IPOB member, Benjamin Madubugwu, and a former Field Maintenance Engineer seconded to the MTN, David Nwawuisi.
Recently, after the court delivered its ruling on the defendants’ bail applications, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Magaji Labaran, amended the charges to include another co-defendant, Bright Chimezie.
In his application filed on July 1, 2017, Kanu maintained that parts of the bail conditions prohibiting him from being seen in a crowd exceeding 10 persons, granting press interviews and holding or attending rallies violated his constitutional rights.
His lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, stated in the motion that the undesirable bail terms and conditions were contained in paragraphs 2(vii) and (viii) of the court’s ruling granting bail to his client on April 25.
But the Federal Government, in its fresh application, asked the court to revoke the bail granted Kanu and order his immediate arrest by the police.
The Federal Government’s counter-affidavit filed in support of the motion and deposed to by a litigation clerk in the Office of the Director Public Prosecutions, pieced together Kanu’s alleged acts of serial violation of the bail conditions imposed by the court.
It maintained that Kanu had flagrantly violated all the bail conditions.
It stated that the essence of the bail, which was for Kanu to look after his health, had been defeated.
According to the prosecution, instead of using the opportunity of his bail to attend to his health needs, Kanu went ahead to inaugurate a security outfit known as the Biafra Security Service.
The prosecution said this constituted a threat to national security.
It also cited an instance of how Kanu allegedly incited his followers “to disrupt, disallow and boycott elections in south East states, starting with Anambra State governorship election scheduled to hold onvbNovember 18, 2017, if the Federal Government failed to hold a referendum for the realisation of the state of Biafra nation.”
Barcelona Sign Ousmane Dembélé For €105m
Barcelona have announced the signing of Ousmane Dembélé from Borussia Dortmund for an initial €105m (£97m), plus a potential €42m (£38m) in add-ons. The 20-year-old forward has agreed a five-year contract with a €400m buyout clause, and will wear the No11 shirt vacated by Neymar.
Fleet-footed winger Ousmane Dembele has finally been granted his dream move to Barcelona as Borussia Dortmund pocket a massive transfer fee for the precocious French talent.
Having forced Dortmund’s hand by going on strike and refusing to train, the German club were left with little choice but to suspend the temperamental 20-year-old and eventually sell him to the Spanish giants.
The 105 million euros ($125 million) set to be forked out by Barcelona, not including potential add-ons, on Friday dwarfs the 15m euros Dortmund paid Rennes for Dembele in July 2016.
The high-profile move on a five-year deal means Dembele will fill the boots of his idol, Neymar, as Barcelona look to bolster their attack after the Brazilian’s record move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Dembele joined Rennes’ academy when he was 13 and having made his first team debut in November 2015, his silky skills combined with sudden bursts of pace and lethal crosses quickly dazzled defences.
Barely into his teenage years at the time, Dembele said his inspirations were Lionel Messi and Neymar – the former will be his new team-mate and the latter is the man he is replacing.
“They’re great players. I try to follow their games and copy what they do in training,” said a youthful Dembele while still at Rennes.
The 2015/16 season saw Dembele make his breakthrough, scoring 12 times in 26 games for Rennes in the French league and setting up five goals.
– Ronaldo comparison –
In March 2016, he scored a hat-trick in the derby against Nantes in a 4-1 win just a couple months shy of his 18th birthday.
The French club’s then sports director Mikael Silvestre compared Dembele to Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I saw Cristiano Ronaldo arrive at the same age at Manchester United and Ousmane has the same characteristics which remind me of young Cristiano,” said Silvestre.
“A talent like Dembele doesn’t come along every season. You are lucky if you have one every 10 years.”
Dortmund beat off reported interest from Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich to sign Dembele.
The Frenchman announced his arrival with an audacious goal on Dortmund’s tour of China, before the 2016/17 season, when the then 19-year-old made a mockery of the United defence to fire home in a 3-0 win.
Despite the trauma of the April bomb attack on the Dortmund team bus, Dembele kept his composure to score when the Champions League quarter-final first leg was replayed a day later, resulting in a 3-2 defeat to Monaco.
Arguably his best and most important goal for Dortmund was his left-footed strike to seal a 3-2 victory at Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the German Cup.
In May’s final in Berlin, he gave Dortmund an early lead before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a second in a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt as Dembele claimed the only title of his career so far.
Dortmund were able to hang onto Aubameyang, who attracted a reported offer of 80m euros from China’s Tianjin Quanjian after scoring 31 league goals last season to dethrone Robert Lewandowski as the Bundesliga’s top scorer.
But despite having a contract until 2021, Borussia were effectively powerless to dampen Dembele’s dreams once Barcelona came calling.
UEFA CHAMPION LEAGUE DRAW FOR 2017/2018 SEASON
Champions League holders Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham in a difficult group following the draw ceremony in Monaco on Thursday.
Barcelona did not get an easy pass, either, as they were drawn against Juventus, Olympiakos and Sporting CP in Group D.
Aside from Spurs, English teams received slightly easier draws, with Chelsea's matchup with Atletico Madrid among the more challenging matchups, while Liverpool will face Sevilla.
Manchester United will face Benfica, FC Basel and CSKA Moscow in Group A, while Manchester City get Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli and Feyenoord in Group F.
Teams were drawn into eight groups of four. Clubs from the same national association -- as well as Russian and Ukrainian clubs -- could not be drawn together. The first group games will be played on Sept. 12-13.
Group A: Benfica, Manchester United, FC Basel, CSKA Moscow.
Group B: Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Anderlecht, Celtic
Group C: Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Roma, FK Qarabag
Group D: Juventus, Barcelona, Olympiakos, Sporting CP
Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Liverpool, NK Maribor
Group F: Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City, Napoli, Feyenoord
Group G: Monaco, FC Porto, Besiktas, RB Leipzig
Group H: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, APOEL Nicosia
Dortmund finished top of their group above Madrid last year, but new coach Peter Bosz still said Real were the most difficult challenge his side could have been drawn against in Group H.
"Real Madrid are the first team that could defend the Champions League title," he said after the draw. "I also saw their [recent Super Cup] matches against Barcelona, and I have to say: That is the absolute top level in football right now.
"For me, it'll be the first time at the Bernabeu, though for most BVB fans it will be a well-known feeling. Against Tottenham, a very strong team, I already played successfully with Feyenoord. And Nicosia rounds off an overall tough group. We're accepting the challenge."
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told Sky Germany that the club would look to the experience of finishing at the top of an equally tough group in 2012, when BVB went unbeaten against Real Madrid, Ajax and Manchester City before reaching the final.
"No doubt about it. This is the most difficult group," he said. "But we've had that in 2012. We got through a group with Real and Manchester City. Heroes are born in those groups. Sure, we always get Real, and we played Tottenham in Europa League. But we can't pick the teams."
Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno shrugged off the notion that his club were the favourites to advance, saying "we'll have to be at our best in order to qualify."
"There're a lot of teams that start today with that [favourites] tag," he said. "We're the champions from the last two seasons, we have a great team and a winning spirit. But this competition takes you to the limit in all aspects.
"It depends on a lot of factors and we must think about making it through the group stage. Hopefully we're in the draw for the last 16 as winners of our group."
Tottenham will go up against their former stars Gareth Bale and Luka Modric when they host Real Madrid at Wembley this year, and Spurs forward Harry Kane called the matchups "a good draw."
"You expect to play the best in Europe in the Champions League, and it's exciting for us. We look forward to these games," Kane said. "You want to test yourself against the best, and Real Madrid are the best at the moment.
"It will be interesting to see where we're at and a great test for us against Borussia Dortmund and APOEL as well. I remember the game against Real Madrid at the Lane in 2011. I'm sure Wembley will be packed for the matches, and we can't wait to get started."
