Marvin Zeegelaar Sporting Lisbon left-back completed medical At Watford

Watford are closing in on a deal for Marvin Zeegelaar after the Sporting Lisbon left-back completed a medical. The 27-year-old Dutchman has yet to be capped at international level but was called into the Netherlands squad for the first time last year. And he now looks set to join former Sporting Lisbon boss Marco Silva, who reportedly tried to sign him for Hull last season and is now in charge at Watford. Zeegelaar has some experience of English football already, having made two appearances for Blackpool during a loan spell at Blackpool in 2013. We understand he is now set to join the Hornets for a fee in the region of £3m. Watford have made a decent start to the Premier League season, having taken five points from three games, but regular left-back Jose Holebas was suspended for Saturday's 0-0 draw at Brighton and his replacement Miguel Britos was then sent off in that match.
